Manasquan River Golf club is located at 843 River view Drive, in Brielle that is also home to the Manasquan River Yacht Club, and other interesting and useful shops such as Hoffman’s Marina West, McCarthy’s Marine Sales. The golf club is owned privately by members of the club.
History of the Manasquan River Golf Club
The Manasquan River Golf club was founded on the 8th of September, 1992. The club at the time was called “Manasquan River Golf and country club”. On that same day, the organization filed a corporate certificate at Monmouth county’s clerk office which was in freehold, in New Jersey. The self-sacrifice of and ultimate diligence of Mr. Howard N. Folk who was at the time a top pioneer in Brielle. Mr. Howard was also the first secretary of the golf club, he was also a dedicated member of the board of trustees, in this capacity, he served for many years.
The members of the original board of trustees; John Cattus, who was the first president of the club, Tasso Fischer, Peter Backes, George E. Devil, Bancroft Cherardi, C. E Emerich, Mott Marcellus, and William Vanplanck. These gentlemen pioneered the affairs of the club and championed it to stability and rapid growth.
The newly incorporated club then acquired the “Charles Osborn Farm” a property that spans over one hundred and forty acres of land on the Manasquan River. Mr. Robert White who was a golf course architect was saddled with the job and responsibility of constructing the first nine holes of the golf club.
The work was to be done in preparation for play by May 30th, 1923. The club finally opened to the general public on Saturday the 30th of June, 1923. The club became popular and attracted highly placed and respected members of the community who then joined as members.
The club up till today has prominent citizens of the community as members. By the year 1926, the second nine holes were completed and were very much ready for use.

A professional golf shop is available for the purchase of golfing equipment. A locker room for both males and females is also available at the club. Guests are allowed to use the Club’s putting green, short game area, and practice area.
