One of the most visited recreational centers in Howell is Howell Ice Arena. A family fun recreational ice indoor arena located at 269 Squankum Rd, in Howell.
Howell Ice is the only Arena known to provide a safe, friends & family fun venue to ice skate in the Howell Athletic Center complex, New Jersey.
Their facility houses one large sheet of ice & one 1/2 sheet for the Pond, With two of these rinks operating throughout the year, it’s a guarantee you will find what you need at Howell Ice Arena.
They have public skating sessions which allow a max of 75 per session.
It is surrounded by a variety of spots: Bear Swamp Natural Area, Howell Park Golf Course, Allaire State Park Campground, Howell Township Library, and the list continues!
Activities at Howell Ice Arena
- Learn to Skate Spring: This is a program organized to provide the students with the skills suitable for their age level in a positive & fun atmosphere. All the coaches have recognized United States Figure Skating registered coaches.
- Kids between age 4 – 6 are offered a 4 level Tot beginner program to equip them for regular classes.
- There are Pre-free skate Freestyle classes for the advanced skater, While special learners have Special Needs classes & individual lessons with a school psychologist/skating coach.
This Learn to Skate program is fully endorsed by the US Figure Skating, US Speedskating, & USA Hockey.
Garden State Holiday Show
This is a fun & exciting event put together by the Garden State Skating Club in December every year. Howell Ice Arena is proud to host talented youth & adults involved in ice hockey, figure skating, & leisure skating. Facilities at the Arena include rental skates, lockers & a heated seating area for spectators.
It’s a wonderful night for families & friends to come together & enjoy what the Arena has to offer & support Garden State Skating Club. People from different cities turn up for this great night but there is limited capacity to promote social distancing. Online reservations are required.
Bosak Goaltending Summer Camp At Howell Ice Arena
The Bosak Goaltending Summer Camps have been among the best Summer Camps in the Howell community for the last decade. The camp officials & guest instructors have helped countless campers advance their games.
The summer camp will include the following:
- 4 Hours of On-Ice per day
- 1 hour of dry land per Day
- 45 Minutes of Classroom per Day
- Maximum of 24 Goalies
- Goalies will be splits into appropriate groups
The Camp is for all levels, all ages & spots are limited ($799) per week).
Camp opens from July – August annually.
