About the Fisherman’s Cove

Fisherman’s Cove Conservation Area is a park that has a variety of options for activities you can engage in; you could fish, simply walk on the beach or participate in a variety of nature programs hosted by the activity center. There’s a parking area located at 391 Third Avenue, Manasquan, New Jersey 08736. However, the street parking area is limited.

Meanwhile, the activity center is located at 383 Third Avenue, Manasquan New Jersey. You can also reach the ranger station (located at Shark River Park) by calling these phone numbers 732-922-4080 or 3868.

The directions to the Fisherman’s Cove Conservation Area go as follows: on Garden State Parkway to Exit 98 to State Highway 34 South to State Highway 35 South. Before the bridge, right onto Higgins Avenue, Brielle then left onto Highway 71 (Union Avenue). Right onto Fisk Avenue/Brielle Road, right onto Third Avenue, Conservation Area is on the right.

For dog lovers, the park system has also provided an area at Thompson Park and Wolf Hill Recreation Area at Oceanport for you to have fun with your dog. For people who love fishing and New Jersey anglers aged 16 and above, there is now a requirement to register with the New Jersey Saltwater Angler Registry to be able to fish in the tidal and marine waters of New Jersey.

If you have an issue with smoke or anything of the sort, you have nothing to worry about in Fisherman’s Cove Conservation Area, because according to New Jersey’s newly amended Smoke-Free Air Act, all parks located in Monmouth County are now tobacco-free. This applies to cigarettes, pipes, vaporize cigarettes, and even smokeless tobacco like snuff and chew.

Activities

The park opens at 7 a.m. daily all year round and closes at 9 p.m. The activities at the beach are delineated all year round, all daylight hours. Visitors have signs posted that will help as a guide in showing which portions are designated for dog access which is enforced by the park rangers.

The Board of Recreation Commissioners keep on implementing plans that provide a greater opportunity for visitors at Fisherman’s Cove Conservation Area.
