Sea Girt Beach

The Sea Girt Beach boardwalk is located at Ocean Avenue, Sea Girt, NJ 08750. It is close to many wonderful restaurants such as The Parker House, Fratello’s Italian Restaurant & Lounge, Joe Leone’s Gastronomia, and many more!

The Sea Girt Beach and Boardwalk are open all year round. The beautiful scenery of the Atlantic Ocean begins from the historic Sea Girt lighthouse and spreads to the southern end of the hospitable town.

The Sea Girt Beach is a nice location for friends, family, and visitors to relax and cool off. Members of the borough are allowed to engage in different activities on the beach, these activities include; bathing, fishing, surfing, and sunbaths on designated beaches.

The Sea Girt beach patrol is saddled with the responsibility of safeguarding lives and maintain law and order on the beach. The motto of the patrol is “saving lives since 1917”. The patrol has manpower of over sixty lifeguards that are on a full and part-time basis. The beach has over sixteen lifeguard towers.

Details, rules, and regulations of the Sea Girt Beach

The beach users are not expected to walk on the dune grass, also a special emphasis on the protection and conservation of endangered protected species, and visitors should be careful. All people except for children under the age of twelve are expected to have beach badges when on the beach. During posted hours badges are obtained between the hour of 9 AM and 4 PM at the bathing pavilion office. Only cash payment is accepted for badges.

Fees are charged in order to provide the necessary equipment and to pay for the lifeguard workers and maintaining and cleaning of the beach. Lifeguards are stationed all day. Food is also prohibited on the beach, only non-alcoholic beverages in non-disposable containers are allowed.  A location to sell food is also provided for hungry beach users, the food can be eaten at the designated eating area.

The beach has a bathhouse, provisions for lockers are made for the safety of properties belonging to the beach users. Dogs are not allowed on the beach before March 15th and after September 30th. The parking space provided at the beach is adequate for visitors. 

Active duty members of the Armed forces, National Guard, and National Guard reserves are offered free beach access alongside their family, upon showing their military ID cards.
