Youth Services

The branch provides children’s materials from classics to new titles in various formats. The Youth Services staff organize programs for kids from birth through 6th grade, as well as Summer Reading Club, to encourage reading during months of holidays. The reading club is supplemented by programs corresponding with each year’s summer reading theme. 

Many programs are designed & organized by library personnel including cooking programs, crafts, reading programs that match teenagers with younger children, and computer lessons. The programs continue throughout the year for all ages.

The “Teen Advisory Board” (TAB) offers teens the chance to create & run their program or event.

Membership

The Library allows free membership to residents of Manchester Township, as well as Ocean County at large. Ocean County Library cardholders can obtain free Monmouth County Library cards & free Burlington County Library cards. under a reciprocal borrowing agreement, anyone who has a valid Monmouth County Library card is qualified to get an Ocean County Library card. Anyone who has a valid Burlington County Library card is also qualified to get a free Ocean County Library card. 

But anyone who lives in a non-member Monmouth County community has to pay for a Monmouth County Library card before they can be given a free Ocean County card.
