To enlist in the Army National Guard you must be between 17 years of age and 35 years. You are required to be a permanent resident or a citizen of the United States of America. The educational qualification required must be a high school diploma, a GED certificate, where these qualifications are not found then the intending recruit should be at least a junior in high school.
The intending recruit must also achieve a minimum score on the ASVAB test. After doing all of the above mentioned, a prospective recruit must meet the medical, physical, and moral requirements as additional test procedures.
The basic training stage is the first stage a recruit passes through. It is a ten-week training that is mandatory for all recruits in the span of these weeks, recruits get to meet their drill sergeant and learn all the necessary skills it takes to be a United States soldier. Recruits also need to pass the Army physical fitness test (APFT) before they graduate from basic combat training.
